The residents of Imqabba will soon benefit from the construction of a new Civic Centre, where the Local Council plans to offer key services such as a Day Centre, a healthcare clinic, and a hall for use by local voluntary organisations, among others.
Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Public Works and the Imqabba Local Council, the Department has committed to building the Civic Centre in the heart of the locality.
Parliamentary Secretary for Public Works Omar Farrugia expressed satisfaction with the project, noting that after continuous dialogue with both residents and the Local Council, this new facility will provide essential services, including elderly care and healthcare services.
Imqabba Mayor Grace Marie Zerafa highlighted the significance of the Civic Centre, both for residents and for local voluntary organisations, as it will serve as a central hub for providing and receiving services.
The new Civic Centre will be constructed on Triq Karmenu Ciantar, replacing an existing building.
