An investment over €2 million, extensive renovation and modernisation works are underway at Adrian Borg Primary School in Birkirkara, located on Psaila Street.

The programme was launched last January, and in April the extensive works at the Birkirkara school began as part of this initiative. The works being carried out at Adrian Borg Primary School aim to welcome students and educators of Years 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 from the Birkirkara school at the start of the upcoming school year, while renovation and modernisation at the Birkirkara school continue.

During a visit to the Adrian Borg Primary School project in Birkirkara, the Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation, Clifton Grima, observed the ongoing work, which not only renovates and modernises the school but also ensures that it is accessible to everyone. The project promotes sustainability by integrating efficient energy use systems and environmentally sustainable materials.

Minister Grima emphasised that these projects are ambitious. “Through these initiatives, we are not only investing heavily in educational infrastructure but also directly investing in students and educators. We want our schools to have a suitable, modern environment that is worthy of them and, as outlined in the National Education Strategy, this work respects and safeguards the well-being of the individual.”

Adrian Borg Primary School in Birkirkara will be ready to welcome 451 students and their educators for the next school year.

Minister Grima stated that the EDU Infrastructure Programme is a key pillar of the National Education Strategy. “The work underway is a comprehensive process that will see our schools transformed not only to meet today’s needs but also to protect the well-being of the individual, truly putting the person at the centre.” concluded Minister Grima.
