Taking to social media, Civil Protection Malta unpacked their most recent rescue of two lost dogs which could not make their way back after around two days of being lost.

Two days ago, Civil Protection personnel were alerted that 2 dogs were lost in the cliff area close to Mtaħleb. A search party of fire fighters from Xemxija tried to locate the dogs well into the night, but the search was called off.

The next day, the owner managed to find the dogs who who were too exhausted and needed veterinary attention. Fire fighters were called in once again and the dogs were loaded on stretchers over 2-3km of rough terrain.

They were then subsequently loaded onto a rescue 4WD until the dogs were handed over to an awaiting Animal Welfare Ambulance. The dogs are currently recovering, and we wish them both a speedy healing!

Two kittens found abandoned closed in a paper bag

Two kittens found abandoned closed in a paper bag

Animal Welfare Gozo took to social media to unveil a horrific act of cruelty wherein two kittens, around 3/4 weeks old, were found closed in a paper bag lying on the side of a street in Ghajnsielem.

‘Why and Why’ the page asked, saying that apart from the cruelty of such an action, the cats were placed through suffering which is beyond words to describe.

‘Why, when you can approach us to obtain a free neutering voucher? Please do the right thing and neuter your cats’ the page pleaded. ‘We will always do our best to help you.’

The post was met with lots of condemnation of the action, asking how people could still be so cruel to animals despite all the work that’s been done to raise awareness about their welfare.

Celebrity sensation Kim Kardashian made her appearance at the 2022 Met Gala red carpet wearing a crystal-embellished gown which was last worn by Marilyn Monroe six decades ago.

The historical pop star did not wear this at just any event however, as she donned it to serenade US President John F Kennedy for his birthday.

Kardashian could have been prompted to don the dress as this year’s exhibition at the Gala was inspired by ‘gilded glamour’ with the theme of ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion.’

The transformation into Monroe by Kardashian took more than just wearing the dress however, as she went on to bleach her hair platinum blond. She also told Vogue that she lost 7kg in less than a month to fit into the dress.

Just the acquisition of the dress was a challenge, as the piece sold in 2016 for $4.8 million, and holds the record for the most expensive dress sold at auction. Usually stored in a temperature-controlled vault in a Florida museum, the gown was transported to Kardashian via private plane and accompanied by guards.

Alongside boyfriend Pete Davidson, Kardashian stepped onto the red carpet in the multimillion dollar gown and a white fur shawl. When the dress was worn by Monroe in 1962, the dressed caused quite a bit of a stir.

Former PN MP Jason Azzopardi has officially resigned from the Nationalist Party following a dispute with leader Bernard Grech.

Azzoaprdi was given 24 hours by the party to provide evidence for claims that he was the person who stopped someone from getting a presidential pardon through the Opposition.

Azzopardi alleged that Grech received a donation in December 2021 from relatives of a murder suspect, but he went on to specify that the relatives were not linked to the Tumas Group.

Azzopardi also alleged that a salesman present during the meeting told Grech that he would not vote for the PN due to Azzopardi being part of the party. Grech’s alleged response was for him to wait until after the general election.

In a long Facebook post, Azzopardi went on to say that despite his flaws and mistakes, his integrity remained ‘untouched.’ ‘I hope no one goes through what I did in the past few months.’
