Għajjejt u Xbajt: An Introduction

Apr 13 2021 Share

Għajjejt u Xbajt was born from both frustration and hope. As we looked around in our everyday lives, we noticed such a lack of effective discourse happening between people. Many topics surrounding feminism and equality weren’t being talked about, or were at best fuelling fights riddled with empty insults. The aim was to create a safe space, within which no topic would be negatively judged or shamed, and where we could act as moderators to healthy debates, discussions and sharing of ideas. It is a sex-positive, intersectional, pro-choice and actively anti-racist space.

We do not claim to have all the answers, but we are very invested in posing the questions, sharing resources, and doing our own small part in working towards a more progressive and inclusive world.

Għajjejt u Xbajt is Malta Daily’s first-ever editorial guest focusing on feminism and equality and will be coming to your screens very soon.

In a meeting with The Player, Assassin’s Creed Elderly Author Alain Mercieca stated he would love to jump onto a script featuring our sunny island of Malta. Despite putting his focus seemingly on Brazil and Chile, Mercieca stated that the island in the middle of the Mediterranean might prove to be an interesting spot to develop an intriguing script.

The island provides the possibility of creating a story centred around ‘specific niche team of warriors in a shed culture on the island.’ Despite Valhalla having just been released last year, the vision for the franchise’s future might have its eyes set on our historically rich country.
