Chris Fearne and I agree about marina says Transport Minister

Chris Fearne and I agree about marina says Transport Minister

Speaking to journalists, Transport Minister Ian Borg played down comments made by Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne regarding the Marsascala marina.

Fearne said that the undeveloped coast should stay as is, but the transport minister denied that Fearne, a candidate on the same third district, was expressing disagreement on the marina.

‘I invite readers to listen to Fearne’s statement properly… my position and the prime minister’s are identical to his. I agree with what Fearne said. It is what I have said in the past weeks’ said Borg.

Fearne said Marsascala’s undeveloped coast should remain as it is as residents enjoy it for swimming, recreation and fishing. The inner bay’s mooring should be reorganised in a better way, said Fearne.

Facing backlash by residents, Ian Borg said the government will communicate with the local council after they doubled down on their opposition to the project.

ABBA leader should pay due defamation costs says MGRM

ABBA leader should pay due defamation costs says MGRM
Feb 15 2022 Share

Malta’s gay rights movement MGRM called on the Electoral Commission to take action against ABBA party leader Ivan Grech Mintoff to fulfil court obligations and pay damages from a libel case.

MGRM is owed a sum total of €3,975 in libel damages and court expenses by Grech Mintoff after he lost both in a first court judgement and then again on appeal.

MGRM’s lawyer Gialuca Cappitta told the chairman of the Electoral Commission that despite empty promises by Grech Mintoff ‘as well as further legal action against him to secure payment, in turn incurring further costs, Grech Mintoff has to date failed to pay the owed amount.’

‘Any individual actively and maliciously defying court orders and refusing to pay an amount ordered by the court should not remain unchecked and be allowed to contest any public election’ said Cappitta.

MGRM also asked the Commission to take all action and assess the conservative party leader’s eligibility for a candidature for the 2022 general elections.

Ivan Grech Mintoff was sued over defamatory statements he broadcast on YouTube and Facebook, with the NGO also suing pro-life organisation Gift of Life, which alleged that the gay rights movement was being funded by American pro-choice organisation Planned Parenthood.

The MGRM said Grech Mintoff’s defamatory statements included alleging that an MGRM representative had admitted to taking money from murdered children to fund her own personal agenda. He also stated on television that the MGRM took money from people who killed children and that they were in bed with the world’s ‘foremost abortion promoters.’

Novak Djokovic willing to sacrifice future trophies to not get COVID jab

Novak Djokovic willing to sacrifice future trophies to not get COVID jab
Feb 15 2022 Share

20-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic said he would rather miss out on future tennis trophies than be forced to get a COVID vaccine. Speaking exclusively to BBC, he said he should not be associated with the anti-vax movement, instead saying he supports an individual’s right to choose.

Asked if he would sacrifice taking part in competitions such as Wimbledon and the French Open over his vaccination stance, Djokovic said that ‘yes, that is the price I’m willing to pay.’ Novak was deported from Australia last month after the government cancelled his visa in a row over his vaccination status. Djokovic said he had obtained a medical exemption to enter the country to play in the Australian Open as he had recently recovered from COVID-19.

However, Alex Hawke, the country’s immigration minister, personally cancelled the 34-year-old’s visa on the grounds that his presence could incite civil unrest and encourage an anti-vaccine sentiment. Djokovic told BBC that he had vaccines as a child, but always supported the freedom to choose what you put in your body. He also revealed that he hoped vaccination requirements in certain tournaments would change, adding that he was hoping he can play for many more years.

He did state however that he was willing to forego the chance to become statistically the greatest male tennis player of all time because he felt so strongly. He replied that the principles of decision making on his body are more important than any title or anything else. ‘I’m trying to be in tune with my body as much as I possibly can’ he said.He went on to say that he was keeping his mind open about the possibility of being vaccinated in the future because ‘we are all trying to find collectively a best possible solution to end Covid.’

Kanye West sent Kim Kardashian a truck full of roses following break-up

Kanye West sent Kim Kardashian a truck full of roses following break-up
Feb 15 2022 Share

Just when you think the KimYe situation couldn’t get any weirder, the rapper sent Kim an entire truck full of roses following his breakup with Julia Fox.Let’s add some context to the story – Kanye, now legally named Ye, has been engaged in an incredibly public dispute on social media with ex-wife Kim Kardashian over how to raise their kids.

Many have been commending Kardashian for her dignified response to his constant alleged attacks and manipulation. Despite all this, the rapper has continued to obsess over the reality star who is dating Pete Davidson. He had seemingly moved on by pursuing a relationship with actress Julia Fox. However, the Uncut Gems star confirmed recently that the couple have gone their separate ways.

Julia said on Instagram that despite having love for Ye she was not in love with him. ‘What do you think I am, 12 years old?!’ she said. Cue Valentine’s Day, and Ye decided to surprise Kim with a truck full of roses. He captioned the Instagram post ‘my vision is Krystal Klear’, even though Kim had thrown her phone in the ocean, changed her number and made a last-minute vacationing spot switch after Ye found out the location.

This also follows Kanye exclaiming that GOD will bring his family back together, sharing snapshots of Davidson on social media and even editing faces of stars involved in all this onto a Marvel Civil War poster.
