Superintendent for Public Health Charmaine Gauci has highlighted the importance of students going to school in person instead of resorting to virtual learning. With COVID-19 cases rising as Malta records new case heights, Charmaine Gauci still defended the importance of students interacting with other children.
Schools did not close down along with restaurants as Prime Minister Robert Abela announced the new mitigation measures, as according to Gauci, the measures in education were working. Charmaine Gauci stated this during an episode of Popolin as she said that since the pandemic is an ongoing situation, all aspects of its effects should be analysed.
