The couple had already been making headlines with international hype around the birth of their second child, with Fedez going viral just a few weeks ago after his performance on the Sanremo 2021 stage, going on to burst into tears soon after due to the endless scrutiny around the artist.

Whatever the case, the future looks bright for the couple and their children, Leo and baby Vittoria and we wish them the best of luck with their family.

Significantly lower COVID-19 case report expected later today

Mar 23 2021 Share

Multiple sources have suggested that today’s COVID-19 case report may reveal a significantly lower amount of overnight cases than usual.

Malta has recently experienced a dramatic surge in cases, breaking multiple record-highs in a one-week window, causing a nation-wide call for an increase in COVID-19 mitigation measures. This lead to what is being called a ‘quasi-lockdown’ with bars, restaurants, gyms, pools, schools and much more being closed until 11th April.

Should today’s case report actually reveal lower numbers, it is of utmost importance that the public remains vigilant and follows all COVID-19 measures issued by the health authorities.

Two of Malta’s female weightlifters, Yasmin Zammit Stevens and Tenishia Thornton, will be representing Malta in the European Championships in Russia in the coming week. With a year of delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the two athletes will have the opportunity to compete and represent Malta at the Olympic qualification event in Moscow. With gyms closed, the athletes had to continue training at home as the departure date, 29th March, approaches.

This will be the first time the Malta Weightlifting Association has two female athletes competing at the championships, with Thornton being the youngest at just 15-years-old. National team coach Jesmond Caruana will accompany the two weightlifters to the European Championships which is set to be the first major weightlifting event to be organised since the pandemic’s introduction.
