Malta secured their first UEFA Nations League win with a 1-0 victory over Andorra, thanks to a crucial goal by Ryan Camenzuli just before halftime.
After a disappointing loss to Moldova, pressure mounted on coach Michele Marcolini and his side. The match saw a balanced start, but Malta gradually took control.
Midway through the first half, the team had multiple scoring opportunities, with Joseph Mbong and Carlo Zammit Lonardelli both coming close. Camenzuli finally broke the deadlock after a smart pass from Matthew Guillaumier.
The second half was more tense, with Andorra pushing for an equalizer. Bonello’s heroics kept Malta in the lead, while Andorra came close several times, including a near-miss by Jordi Alaez.
Despite intense pressure in the final moments, Malta held firm to secure a much-needed win. They now aim to build on this momentum for their next game against Moldova.
Well done boys!
