NGO Wildlife Rescue Team Malta took to social media to remind the Maltese public that, whereas we get to cool down from the scorching heat wave under our air conditioners, other animals do not have the luxury.
We often forget that many animals which aren’t normally taken in as pets do not have the luxury to cool down as they are relegated to the outside world.
‘Bats, birds, bees, hedgehogs and all other animals will be desperate for some hydration’, the NGO wrote. ‘Whether you have a doorstep, front yard, a balcony or roof, please leave a shallow bowl of daily fresh water.’
The NGO also left details for information in case people find one of the animals aforementioned in distress.
