The legendary G7 Summer Tour continues with the Café del Mar Malta White Edition featuring Fedde Le Grand on Saturday, 21st June – Get ready for an evening of golden skies, cool seas, and all white everything.

Headlining the night is none other than Fedde Le Grand, the globally renowned Dutch DJ/producer whose genre-defining hits have shaped dance music history. From the anthemic “Put Your Hands Up For Detroit” — recently reworked alongside Morten — to the chart-smashing “Let Me Think About It” with Ida Corr, Fedde’s electrifying energy and deep catalogue promise a performance to remember.

Dressed in white and dancing under the stars, you’ll also catch sets from some of Malta’s finest: Alessia De Martino, Debrii, Joseph Stayl, Koroma, Miggy, Tom Monjo, and a live performance by Justine on Sax.

A total of 2,493 fines were issued to drivers caught using their mobile phones while driving in the first three months of 2025, according to data released by the Local Enforcement System Agency (LESA).”

The use of mobile phones behind the wheel was the most frequently penalised traffic offence in the first quarter of the year. It was followed by violations related to continuous white lines, which accounted for 1,168 fines during the same period.

Not wearing seatbelts also remained a persistent issue, with 857 fines handed out in the first three months of the year. Meanwhile, offenses involving the safety of children in vehicles, though significantly lower in number, still saw 65 fines issued — highlighting ongoing concerns about child passenger protection.

According to new data released by Eurostat, Malta had the third lowest median age at 39.8, with the median age of the EU’s population set at 44.7 years as of January 2024.

The country with the highest median age was Italy at 48.7 years, followed by Portugal and Bulgaria (both 47.1 years), and Greece at 46.9.

The lowest was registered in Ireland at 39.4 years, followed by Luxembourg at 39.7 years.

12.3% of Malta’s population was aged between 0 and 14 in 2024, a drop from 14.4% in 2014.

Meanwhile, 69.3% of the Maltese population was aged between 15 and 64, followed by 18.4% of those aged 65 and over.

The study found that ‘the population of the EU on 1 January 2024 was estimated at 449.3 million people. Children aged between 0 and 14 years made up 14.6% of the EU’s population, while people considered to be of working age (15 to 64 years) accounted for 63.8% of the population.’
