Cabinet approves divorce act amendments; to be presented tonight at Parliament

The Cabinet has just approved a legal draft which will amend the conditions necessary for divorce proceedings.

The Parliamentary Secretary for Equality and Reforms, Roseanne Cutajar will be presenting the draft night at Parliament, a bill which will change the time required for couples to achieve a divorce.

The bill will attempt to facilitate the lives of Maltese families and eliminate any obstacles that they may come across to ultimately improve the quality of life across the Maltese Islands.

UK Health Regulator advises people with ‘significant’ allergic reactions to avoid Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine

The UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has released a statement advising individuals with histories of ‘significant’ allergic reactions to avoid taking the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine which is being rolled out in the United Kingdom.

This comes after two members of the National Health Services suffered an allergic reaction after receiving the vaccine, both of which are currently recovering well.

The MHRA’s chief executive officer stated that allergic reactions were not expected from the clinical trials and they are currently advising the relevant fields.

JJOY recounts his experience after overcoming COVID-19

COVID-19 has turned people’s worlds upside down in more ways than one and amongst the first people to feel its effects were people in the arts and entertainment sector. We took some time to listen to what local DJ JJOY had to say after contracting COVID-19.

JJOY shared his COVID-19 experience stated that the virus affected him moderately, stating that he did not feel the effect of isolation as he would be in the same house with his wife and son and conducting business remotely. What he did say is he had slight coughing, fatigue, nausea once he recovered from the virus.

“It has completely changed the life of a DJ,” he said as he noted that mass events were the first to stop and he had to postpone all events, commending the Maltese for their courage and heart of gold.

JJOY went on to appeal for unity in all sectors including business, music and everything else – something which is needed now more than ever.

The DJ urges positivity and courage in our community and stated that we are stronger than the virus, with special regard to the Maltese people.

Alfred Molina to return as Doctor Octopus in upcoming Spider-Man movie

Following the recent news that former Spider-Men Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire are to return in the Spider-Man movie, it has been reported that Alfred Molina will also reprise his role as Doctor Octopus. 

Molina had previously taken the role of Otto Octavius in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2.

In what is to be a mass reunion for the Spidey character universe, Jamie Foxx will also return as Electro, which he has been hinting at on Instagram.
