Bernard Grech Calls For Unity as PN Prepares For New Leadership

In his final address as Leader of the Nationalist Party, Bernard Grech called on members of the party’s various branches to work together to bring the PN closer to the people. Speaking at a meeting held yesterday evening, Grech said that branch representatives are best placed to connect with society, as they reflect the diversity of Malta’s communities.

Grech encouraged continued collaboration under the leadership of a new PN Leader, with the aim of building a strong, united, and credible alternative government. He emphasised the importance of putting forward positive, practical proposals that not only strengthen the party but also respond to the country’s urgent needs.

As he prepares to step down, Grech pledged his full support to whoever is elected as his successor. He affirmed his commitment to remain actively involved and to work alongside all PN MPs to bring about meaningful change for the nation.

The meeting was also addressed by PN Secretary General Charles Bonello and MP Chris Said, who spoke in his capacity as President of Social Dialogue within the party. Both reinforced the call for unity, renewal, and grassroots engagement in the party’s future direction.

Condolences to all of Jean Paul’s loved ones. Rest in peace.

The suspected killer, Mohamed Hamdan, was arrested and charged for the murder, but plead not guilty.

The shooting took place in the presence of a LESA official. The accused left the scene and returned with a gun to shoot Busuttil.

Matthew Zerafa Selected For EU Commission Housing Advisory Board

The EU Commission has set up the Housing Advisory Board, an expert group tasked with providing concrete, independent policy recommendations for the Commission to consider in preparing the European Affordable Housing Plan.

Over 200 qualified individuals applied, and one of them was Maltese Matthew Zerafa, the Chief Executive Officer at the Malta Housing Authority.

Matthew Zerafa Selected Among 200 For EU Commission Housing Advisory Board

Matthew was one of 15 chosen after careful assessment of applications. The Commission said that the decision to choose the 15 was done to ensure ‘a balanced representation across different profiles and areas of expertise, along with a geographical and gender balance, of the different members who come from 15 different EU Member States.’
