Gozo Dream Yacht Team To Participate In Aegean 600 Regatta

The Ministry for Gozo and Planning is once again extending its support to the Gozo Dream Yacht Racing Team as they prepare to compete in the prestigious international regatta, The Aegean 600. This year’s edition will be held in Greece, commencing on 6 July 2025. It marks the third consecutive year that the Ministry has backed the team, which continues to carry the Visit Gozo logo with pride during high-level international competitions.
Minister for Gozo and Planning, Clint Camilleri, expressed his enthusiasm for the team’s participation, highlighting the historic nature of the event. He remarked that this will be the first Gozitan yacht to compete beyond Malta’s waters in such a challenging race, underlining the team’s determination and the island’s growing presence in international sailing circles. He also indicated the possibility of future involvement in other Mediterranean regattas, enhancing Gozo’s reputation in maritime sport.
The team’s core members all hail from Gozo. The yacht will be led by skipper Noel Grech, with James Pave and Claudio Bugeja as co-skippers. The crew includes Christopher Tabone, Matthew Grech, Mark Muscat, Jean Pierre Grech, Philippe Farchy and Paolo Farrugia.
Minister Camilleri emphasised that the Ministry’s investment in sport is broad and ongoing. In July, another Gozitan contingent will represent the island in the Games of the Small States of Europe, showing continued support for local athletes across disciplines.
He concluded by congratulating the team and wishing them every success in The Aegean 600.
