Brillanti Goes Prop: Semifinalists create stories with various objects

Brillanti Goes Prop: Semifinalists create stories with various objects

We are getting closer than ever to the final cuts, and for this 4th round of semifinals, the dancers will have to create a story using a prop of their choice.

Following last week’s movie soundtrack challenge, the dancers will have to show the judging panel, made up of Brenda, Attila and Patrick, that they can perform using their surroundings and what lies within it.

Whether it’s umbrellas, blindfolds or literal combat staffs, the dancers will have to stand out in yet another round.

With the judges being stricter than ever as to who makes the cut or not, some will have to prove that they have what it takes to stay in the cohort.

But, as always, there will be cuts. Following last week’s elimination, Kim Ellul, the pressure is on for these dancers to show their resilience and leave their mark.

What prop will the dancers choose? And who will be packing their bags at the end of the programme? Tune in to Brillanti Dance tomorrow at 2030hrs on ONE TV.

Most microplastics ever collected by Żibel removed during Golden Bay clean-up

May 11 2023 Share

Thanks to local NGO Żibel and M Demajo Wines-Spirits, Golden Bay was liberated from a whopping 20,000 microplastics during a recent clean-up event.

A whopping 65 volunteers gathered at the popular local beach for a 5-hour collaboration, where the sifted through the sand removing only foreign objects, thus maintaining the area’s natural integrity. The 20,000 microplastics removed weighed a total of 20 kilograms, breathing new life into the bay.

After the event, the volunteers were treated to an ice-cold Johnnie Walker cocktails and sustainable merch after a hard day’s work.

“Microplastics are all around us, but the beach is one of their last resting spots before becoming impossible to collect from nature. To ensure we do not disturb the ecosystems, we employ a rigorous filtering system after sifting to make sure we leave as many organic items on the beach”, a post by Żibel read.

The sustainable local brands will be organising another clean-up on July 1st, so make sure you keep an eye out on their socials for more information!
