Bridgerton’s Regé-Jean Page has just been deemed, according to the Greek Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi, the most handsome man in the world.
The 34-year-old Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page is a British actor known for his breakout role in the Netflix series. He played Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings in Season 1.
The Golden Ratio Test reportedly test rates a person’s facial beauty based on how close their facial proportions are to the ratio. It was called the ‘Divine Proportion; by the Pythagoreans and it is a mathematical value called phi, equal to about 1.618.
The title was given to Page by facial cosmetic surgeon Dr Julian De Silva, who added him to a list of 9 other ‘very attractive humans’.
English football player Jude Bellingham managed to make it to the top five with a score of 92.22%, followed by Harry Styles with 92.30%. The top three were rounded out with Michael B. Jordan at 93.46% and Chris Hemsworth at 93.53%.
But, the Golden Ratio itself is a rather problematic concept to begin with. With a long history going back to Plato, the ratio was found to be inaccurate when it comes to testing a wide range of facial features.
There is no evidence which suggests that the Golden Ratio determines facial beauty – or any visual beauty for that matter.
