BREAKING: New ‘Moderna’ COVID-19 vaccine is 94.5% effective

Following the recent announcement that Pfizer and BioNTech had developed a vaccine with 90% accuracy, pharmaceutical company Moderna have broke the news that their vaccine is 94.5% effective against COVID-19. 

Moderna’s trials made use of 30,000 study participants, with one half being given a placebo and 90 developing COVID-19 and the other half given the actually vaccine with only five of them developing the virus.

Infectious disease doctor, Dr. Anthony Fauci stated that the high-priority groups like healthcare workers, elderly and others would get the vaccine first, with the rest to follow towards the end of April and after.

103 COVID-19 cases registered overnight with 123 recoveries

Malta has registered 103 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 3,189 swab tests, while 123 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.

From yesterday’s cases; 14 cases were family members of previously known cases, 8 cases were contact of positive work colleagues, 3 cases were direct contacts with other positive cases and 2 cases were imported.

To date, Malta has registered 8,137 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 5,888 have recovered, 98 died and 2,151 are still active.

Music festival in Taiwan welcomes international DJs

The term ‘music festival’ has become somewhat mystical and unreachable in a world affected by COVID-19 but a COVID-free city in Taiwan has made us hopeful for the future. 

Road to Ultra Music Festival in Taipei, Taiwan welcomed international DJs from across the globe with the likes of Alesso and Slander headlining after having quarantined for 14 days. 

The city of Taipei hasn’t had a COVD-19 case in over 200 days and, despite backlash, gives a glimmer of hope to other countries and a motivation to follow COVID-19 preventive measures.

Pro-Trump protests turn violent in Washington

Pro-Trump supporters held a rally in Washington D.C., chanting “USA”, “four more years” and “stop the steal” just a few days after Joe Biden’s election as President.  

The rallies quickly turned violent with e number of fistfights emerging with at least one stabbing and around 20 arrests reported so far.

The Trump camp has filed a number of lawsuits in many states for alleged voter fraud, with most judges dismissing the claims.
