Rio De Janeiro is well known for its iconic Jesus Christ statue overlooking the city, but a new statue in Southern Brazil is currently being built. This statue, dubbed ‘Christ the Protector’, will be even bigger than its counterpart. Being built in Encantado, a small town in Brazil’s southernmost state, Rio Grande do Sul, it will stand 43 meters (141 feet) tall.

The local organisation building it is Friends of Christ Association (AACristo), and said that it will be the third tallest statue of Jesus in the world, following a 249-foot statue currently being constructed in Mexico and a 172-foot monument in Poland. The construction is set to finish by the end of this year, as predicted by the sculptor Genesio Gomes Moura and his son Markus Moura.

This Maltese motoring show wants to change the TV game and it’s dropping in September

Apr 19 2021 Share

Maltese television has taken on new life in recent years with local programmes pushing the boundaries of what levels local programming can actually reach and ‘Revved’ is no exception.

This group of indie filmmakers has taken their love of cinematography and motoring to develop a game-changing reality show which hopes to “eliminate the stigma that Maltese productions have little or low cinematic and entertainment value.”

Presented by MF studios’ Matthew Cesareo and Fabian Azzopardi, ‘Revved’ will see the show hosts partner up with creatives who have struggled during the pandemic and establish a platform of release for local creative, which will include challenges, historical mini-documentaries, interviews from the local scene and much more, all while focusing on delivery and entertainment value.

Posted by Revved on Saturday, 3 April 2021

The show is coming to One TV and YouTube 4k in September and hopes to inspire local creatives to follow suit and express their creative talents.
