Boxing Day Tournament scheduled again after 2 year absence

After an absence of two years due to the pandemic, the Malta Sports Journalists Association (MSJA) together with the Malta Football Association (MFA), the Malta Football Referees Association (MFRA) and the Malta Football Coaches Association (MFCA), will join for the traditional boxing day football tournament, which has been organised for several years. This tournament traditionally sees football teams made up of sports journalists, coaches, referees, and MFA staff battling it out for a good cause.

The Boxing Day Football Tournament will be held on Monday 26th December 2022, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Centenary Stadium, Ta’ Qali. H.E. President of Malta George Vella will be attending and will kick off the second set of matches at 10:00 a.m.

As is customary, tournament participants will pool their funds in a collective donation for the national fund-raising activity Istrina. The general public is welcome to attend and contribute with a donation along with the participants.

Manchester Utd. will be visiting Malta in January

The Manchester United women’s football team will be visiting Malta for a training camp between the 3rd and the 8th of January next year.

As part of this training program, on Friday 6 January Manchester United will play a friendly match against the local team of Birkirkara, at the Tony Bezzina Stadium.

These details were announced in a news conference addressed by the Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo and the CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority Carlo Micallef.

France launch official complaint over Emi Martinez’s behaviour

France launched an official complaint over Argentina goalkeeper Emi Martinez’s taunting of Kylian Mbappe wake of World Cup final Defeat.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper has been stealing most of the headlines for the past few weeks and has yet again found himself all over the news.

France FA are complaining on his behaviour, holding a doll with Mbappe’s face on it during victory celebrations in Argentina.

Martinez also staged a minute of silence for the French star.

Netflix and Nike will help people stick to their ‘New Year New Me’ resolutions

Netflix and Nike are going to try help people stick to their ‘New Year New Me’ fitness-related resolutions this year.

Starting on December 30, 30 hours of video content will become available on Netflix, through a partnership with Nike.

While new year’s resolutions may not be the best method for losing weight and keeping fit, having access to this type of content may be the start of your fitness journey.

Netflix announced that this will be released in two bashes, available in multiple languages and to users of all subscription plans.

Nike’s training program, is built around an app that helps build healthy habits through fine-tuned training regimens and workout sessions.
