Boat Goes Up in Flames Għadira Bay

Officials from the Civil Protection Department (CPD), Armed Forces of Malta (AFM), the Police, and Mater Dei Hospital are currently responding to a fire in Għadira Bay, which appears to have originated from a boat. Footage sent to Malta Daily shows a bright red flame engulfing the vessel, with thick plumes of smoke rising from the scene just off the popular sandy beach.

At this time, it remains unclear whether anyone was on board when the fire broke out. There have been no confirmed reports of injuries, and details surrounding the incident are still emerging. Emergency services are on-site, working to contain the fire and prevent further escalation.

Collaborating with Thouxanbanfauni, who boasts over 328K followers on Instagram, the artists released ‘BACK2BACK’ for streaming platforms along with a new music video.

Boasting over 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Thouxanbanfauni was also part of the original Playboi Cart crew, going on to release a couple of hit songs.

This is just the next instalment in the Fresco move towards global acclaim as he continues to create new material with bigger and bigger artists.

De La Salle College’s Brother Edward Turns 100 Years Old

De La Salle College Malta recently celebrated a significant milestone with Br. Edward marking his 100th birthday.

Born on August 16, 1924, in Żabbar, Br. Edward has devoted over 75 years to teaching and inspiring students at the college.

The celebration highlighted Br. Edward’s extensive impact, both in and out of the classroom.

‘As we honour Br. Edward’s century of life, we reflect on the countless lives he has touched with his kindness, leadership, and dedication. His impact goes far beyond the classroom, shaping the hearts and minds of generations’, wrote De La Salle College Malta.

Br. Edward shared his personal journey with ‘The People of Malta’, expressing how he felt a calling to teach from a young age. Despite initial setbacks, including not passing the exam for the Lyceum and his parents’ reluctance, he pursued his dream of teaching.

Moving to France before World War II, he joined the Brothers’ school and has been with the order for over 70 years. He continues to find joy in teaching still to this age.
