Bjorn Speaks About Difficulty Of Sleep Due to ALS

Bjorn Speaks About Difficulty Of Sleep Due to ALS
Aug 28 2024 Share

For Bjorn , who has been suffering from  ALS for 9 years , sleep is far from a simple process.

Unlike many who naturally shift positions during the night, Bjorn remains completely still, which makes sleeping a relentless challenge. His condition necessitates frequent repositioning to prevent bedsores and discomfort, requiring caregivers to be on constant watch.

In the past, Bjorn received this crucial nighttime care from Maria. However, as his condition progressed, it became increasingly difficult for family members to manage this demanding task alone. The physical and emotional toll of staying up throughout the night to tend to Bjorn’s needs took a significant toll on his loved ones.

DAR Bjorn Respite offers a solution to this issue. By providing specialized nighttime care, DAR Bjorn alleviates the burden on family members, ensuring that patients receive the attention they need while their families get much-needed rest. This support is vital for maintaining both patient comfort and family well-being.

DAR Bjorn Respite remains committed to helping families through these challenging times, working tirelessly to offer relief and support until the very end.

And of course, this means he’ll be facing the dead of night in the water. Neil has already done this before, but clips like these show exactly what the swimmer will be going through.

Would you swim in pitch black darkness?
