Bjorn Formosa, a leading advocate for ALS awareness in Malta, has shared a poignant Christmas message that resonates deeply despite his voice being silenced by ALS. In a heartfelt video, Bjorn uses his eye-tracking device to pen a letter to Santa, reflecting on a challenging yet impactful year.
“Dear Santa, this year, I don’t want gifts. All I wish for is my voice. But this year, I’ve lost my ability to speak due to ALS,” he writes, setting the tone for an emotional journey through the highlights of 2024.
The video showcases Bjorn’s incredible achievements, including raising €1.5 million for ALS Malta, hosting a landmark concert in Gozo, and welcoming new residents to DAR Bjorn. Most notably, approval was granted to begin work on DAR Bjorn Respite, a facility designed to support families affected by ALS.
Santa’s response to Bjorn’s letter reads: “Your voice may be quiet, but your message speaks louder than ever. The love you’ve shared and the hope you’ve sparked—that’s what makes Christmas magical.”
Bjorn’s unwavering determination serves as a reminder that the season is about giving hope and support. He invites the public to join him in supporting ALS Malta, ensuring hope remains the greatest gift of all.
