Minister for Tourism and Consumer Protection has unveiled how Birgu’s town square is set to look after its upcoming transformation. The artistic rendition of the square will give the location the required curation and respectful work to preserve the historical heritage found in the area.
The project will be an investment of around €500,000 to recreate the square into an open space for the public to be overseen by Bartolo and Infrastructure Minister Ian Borg.

The Vatican charity office is working on getting as many as 1,200 of Rome’s poorest and homeless people vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine. Pope Francis appealed repeatedly that no one should be excluded from getting the vaccine and as such will be holding jab administrations during the Holy Week leading up to Easter Sunday.
The programme will be coordinated by papal almsgiver Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, who has himself spent Christmas in hospital due to COVID-19. The vulnerable people will be offered the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine which has been the same jab used by the pope and Holy See’s employees. Pope Francis stated that he believes everyone ethically deserves to be vaccinated.

A nurse took to Facebook to express and showcase how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected her in her day-to-day life. She asks when the suffering will pass as she looks at a photo of herself and highlights the masks’ markings on her face and signs of exhaustion. She pinpoints her eyes, tearful and wanting to rest after hours of hard work.

She reveals she does not know when the suffering will end – for those inflicted directly with the virus, their loved ones and all the workers addressing the pandemic. She longs for a time when the virus is vanquished, but until then, she states, we must all keep fighting. Our hearts go out to all those frontline workers putting their lives on the line and on hold to help all those who are suffering in these trying times.

Malta has registered 55 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 2,086 swab tests, while 286 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.
As of Tuesday 30th March 2021, 186,111 vaccine doses were administered of which 52,340 were 2nd doses.
To date, Malta has registered 28,993 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 27,704 have recovered, 390 died and 899 are still active.
