Bernard Grech Says That PN Government Would Lift E-Scooter Ban

Bernard Grech Says That PN Government Would Lift E-Scooter Ban
Jan 22 2024 Share

Speaking to MaltaDaily’s Keane Cutajar during an interview, Nationalist Party leader Bernard Grech said that a Nationalist government would lift the e-scooter rental ban.

Grech said that the required enforcement on scooters was not put in place by the Labour government.

He emphasised the importance of parkings for e-scooters as well as other rental vehicles like bicycles.

He contrasted Malta to foreign countries which still deploy e-scooters and other alternative transportation modes but have the necessary enforcement in place.

The Opposition leader said that when the Nationalist Party is in government, they will set up the parkings and create the necessary enforcement to keep these alternatives viable.

He accused the government of creating a problem and then removed the problem by removing the scooters instead of solving this.
