Mar 23 2021 Share

In a live video broadcasted to FaceBook, Opposition Leader Bernard Grech stated that these are dark times for Malta as further news comes out daily that sheds bad light onto the Labour Party. He stated that the shocking accusations are unprecedented regarding Ministers present in Robert Abela’s cabinet’s, as well as ex-Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.

He continued to state that they are being implicated in the murder of late journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia and other serious heist attempts. These implications, according to Grech, continue to connect organised crime with Joseph Muscat and Robert Abela’s government. He concluded by stating that the ministers owe the nation an explanation, the situation cannot stay the same and that the institutions are not working as implicated by Abela.

Opposition MP Jason Azzopardi has stated that former Economy Minister Chris Cardona was arrested in connection with the 2010 failed HSBC heist. Azzopardi also pointed out that Joseph Muscat appointed him to cabinet despite having knowledge of the situation. When addressing parliament this afternoon, Azzopardi said that Chris Cardona was the first and only person to visit Joseph Muscat after his resignation in November of 2019.

Azzopardi referred to convicted murderer Vincent Muscat’s recent request for second pardon in return for naming of sitting minister in alleged failed 2010 heist. He proceeded to challenge Prime Minister Robert Abela to reveal when he last had contact with Adrian and Robert Agius, charged with the Caruana Galizia murder.

Fully-vaccinated healthcare workers’ quarantine cut down to five days

Fully-vaccinated healthcare workers’ quarantine cut down to five days
Mar 23 2021 Share

Health Minister Chris Fearne announced on Tuesday that quarantine for fully-vaccinated healthcare workers has been reduced from 14 to 5. Announced in parliament, the workers will now take a swab test after five days and be allowed out if tested negative. The rule however will apply to those who have been fully vaccinated for at least a fortnight.

The majority of healthcare workers are well past the two-week point after the second shot, since they were administered the jab earlier this year. The measure will hopefully ease the healthcare system’s pressure. This also marks the first time since the start of the pandemic since the quarantine period has been modified, despite affecting only healthcare workers.
