Ben Camille Addresses Bullying Following Racquel’s Love Island Decision

Jun 8 2024 Share

Amid the recent controversy surrounding concerns of bullying on Love Island Malta, show producer and local media personality Ben Camille took to Instagram to put everyone’s mind at rest and encourage watchers to be kind.

Racquel’s heart-wrenching decision on the most recent episode of Love Island Malta resulted in the breaking up and consequential elimination of Ed Tortell from Kyannah, leading to a flurry of social media comments.

“The show is what it is, it’s very fast-paced, emotions run high”, Camille stated before going on to highlight that there is a fine line between one giving their opinion and bullying.

The show producer went on to state that there is no need to judge, encouraging everyone to be nice to one another and be kind. Negative social media comments tend to erupt in great volumes following difficult decisions on the show, but it has been stated time and time again that the individuals in the villa should not be judged based on the 45 minutes shown to the public on national television.

Ben concluded by reminding the public that there is no show tonight but will continue on Sunday at 9pm on TVM.

This vote will determine six Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and local council teams for the next five years. There are 370,184 eligible voters for the European Parliament election, a slight decrease from 2019. For the local council elections, 457,343 people are registered, up by 23,000 compared to the previous election.

Polling stations will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the results for the MEP elections are expected tomorrow morning. The European Parliament’s total number of MEPs will increase from 705 to 720 after this election due to additional seats allocated to twelve countries following the UK’s exit from the EU.

Thirty-nine local candidates are contesting the European Parliament seats, including nine from the Labour Party, eight from the Nationalist Party, and a record number of 13 independent candidates, along with representatives from smaller parties. Among the candidates are three current MEPs: Roberta Metsola, David Casa (both PN), and Alex Agius Saliba (PL), as well as former MEP Claudette Abela Baldacchino (PL). Amongst others David Casa is also on the ticket, noted for being Malta’s longest-serving MEP.
