Beatrice Njoya, Malta’s representative at the 73rd Miss Universe competition in Mexico City, has returned to Malta and reunited with her family after an unforgettable experience.

Njoya expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to represent her country on an international stage.

Beatrice shared that her journey went beyond competition – despite not winning the crown or placing, she highlighted that is was a celebration of empowered women from diverse backgrounds.

Upon returning home, Beatrice shared heartwarming moments with her three children. This milestone marks the end of an inspiring chapter where she not only showcased Malta’s culture but also made history as the first Maltese woman of colour to participate in Miss Universe, gaining recognition for breaking barriers.

‘This is a just the beginning of a new era! Let’s keep shining brighter, together’, wrote Njoya.

The Armed Forces of Malta conducted a full-scale emergency exercise to prepare for a hijack scenario.

‘The exercise aimed to assess preparedness, response capabilities, communication systems, and the coordination of emergency resources among participating organisations.’

The AFM official Facebook page released behind the scenes photos of the exercise, showing all the tools at the AFM’s disposal as well as the officials working as a team to address the emergency.
