Awareness Through Football: Mellieħa Team For Kids With Autism
Apr 22 2024 Share

Mellieħa SC Football School has dedicated a unique team for local children with autism, so that they can raise awareness about the spectrum through the love of sport.

‘Awareness is not done in one day, work must be carried out all year round to be celebrated during an awareness month or day.’

The club proudly drives the Autism initiative hoping that this becomes the norm – that is, providing sustained support to individuals on this spectrum.

The coaches, through a video uploaded to social media, explain the aims behind this initiative.

Coach Sherif Sleiman explains how sport can be adapted to help children who were born with the disability, along with the support of SC Chairwoman Margot Cutajar and the parents of the children.

‘Let’s stop treating them differently and provide equal opportunity and access.’

Sarah Bonnici’s Dad Picks Ħamrun Winning League Over Eurovision Win

Sarah Bonnici's Dad Picks Ħamrun Winning League Over Eurovision Win
Apr 22 2024 Share

Interviewed via video call on Replay (Net Television), Eurovision representative Sarah Bonnici’s father Marcel Bonnici was asked to pick between his daughter winning the contest or Hamrun Spartans winning the league.

Marcel Bonnici, who is the chief executive of Ħamrun Spartans, picked the latter option, saying that it is the most likely outcome out of the two.

Still, he said that Sarah will do her utmost best to make Malta proud and is sure of this fact. However, given the tendency for Eurovision countries to vote for their neighbours, Malta winning the Eurovision Song Contest always remains an unfortunately elusive concept.

But who knows?!
