Caruana told the Demicoli brothers that on January 1st, 2019, he got on a plane and left Australia and found a restaurant to open within a matter of months. Interestingly, the restaurateur stated that “he got bored of Australia” and being in Malta “feels right.”

“I love Malta, I’ve been going since a young kid and I’ve always had this deep connection with it”, he stated. This is what lead Caruana to open his first Australian restaurant in Malta, going full circle on Malta and Australia’s connection.

Showing his tattooed tribute to Malta on his back and side, today Caruana is the proud owner of respected establishments Two Buoys and Word of Mouth, bringing the taste of Australia and beyond to Malta.

PN Banners Vandalised in Valletta; Minority Leader Speaks Out

PN Banners Vandalised in Valletta; Minority Leader Speaks Out
May 23 2024 Share

Christian Micallef, the minority leader of the Nationalist Party (PN) within the Valletta Local Council, took to Facebook to share his thoughts after an election banner was vandalised. Micallef wrote, “Vandals listen only when others are stronger. If vandals are equal or stronger, their word is the last word.”

He emphasised that if the power of incumbency were a crime, some people would face immediate prosecution. Micallef described the power of incumbency as ‘a thinly-disguised promotional exercise aimed at making voters forget the wrong decisions made by politicians in power.’

He urged voters not to forget their voting power on June 8th, warning against giving power to those desperate to stay in power. “Past and recent experiences have shown us all that these types of people are a cause of worry,” he concluded.

In the comments, fellow candidate Michael Borg posted another photo of a vandalised banner, this time of MEP candidate Peter Agius. All the vandalised artworks appear to have been smeared with black paint.
