The Association for Abandoned Animals, stepped in to save a critically ill kitten found dying on a pavement by a volunteer. Though the sanctuary focuses on dogs, they said “We simply cannot not help.”

Named Zaren, the kitten needed three full days of veterinary care, including medication and IV drips just to survive.

Now recovering in a volunteer’s home, Zaren suffers from advanced cat flu and he will sadly need to have an eye removed, however, his other eye could still be salvable.

The Association expressed gratitude towards supporters, saying, “Together we are saving lives”.

As part of the safety measures, the Authority carried out the controlled demolition of the remaining unstable parts of the building to eliminate any immediate risks.

Alongside the clean-up operation, the BCA has also started reinforcing another building that faces the affected site, known as ‘The Avenue’.

This step has been taken as a precautionary measure to strengthen the existing structure and safeguard against potential hazards during the ongoing works.

The Authority expressed its gratitude to all workers involved in this sensitive task, acknowledging the care and precision required throughout the operation.

It also extended thanks to the residents and local business owners for their cooperation and understanding during this period of disruption.

The clean-up and reinforcement works are expected to continue over the coming days, with the BCA remaining committed to ensuring public safety and minimising inconvenience as efforts progress.

Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
