WATCH: Conor McGregor & Machine Gun Kelly in heated argument on VMA red carpet

The Barclays Center in New York was brimming with celebrities on Sunday evening for the 2021 edition of the MTV Video Music Awards but things started to heat up as the night progressed.

Despite claiming that “absolutely nothing” happened, video footage has emerged showing the Irish MMA fighter and American rapper exchange in a heated back-and-forth before McGregor lunged at the artist and threw a drink at him. The security arrived just in time to separate the stars before they came to blows.

Reports have stated that the altercation began when McGregor asked Machine Gun Kelly for a photo, which the rapper denied, reportedly shoved McGregor and made him stumble backwards and spill his drink. MGK, real name Colson Baker’s girlfriend Megan Fox was seen being escorted beyond the melee while the situation diffused.

The two were seen in the audience at the award show soon after, with McGregor telling an Entertainment Tonight representative that he only fights real fighters and he most certainly does not fight ‘little Vanilla Ice white rappers’.
