Answer The Hero's Call: Become A Nurse Or Midwife In Malta
Jun 18 2025 Share

Heroes are not just found in comic books. In real life, they wear scrubs, not capes, and dedicate themselves to caring for others. These are the nurses and midwives who support patients through illness and welcome new life into the world every day.

The Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses (MUMN), in partnership with the Ministry for Health and Active Ageing, has launched the ‘Become a Hero’ campaign to inspire more people to pursue this essential profession.

MUMN plays a key role in representing and defending the rights of nurses and midwives across Malta and Gozo, constantly working to improve their working conditions and professional wellbeing.

Malta currently has around 5,000 practising nurses, but demand continues to grow. If you or someone you know is passionate about helping others, this could be your chance to make a real difference.

Southern Fried Chicken Malta is making mornings happier with its all-new breakfast menu, served daily from 10am across all seven locations… and it’s proving a hit with fans of big, beautiful flavour.

The new menu is everything you’d expect from SFC: hearty, satisfying, and full of Southern-style goodness. Whether you go for a fluffy ciabatta, a crispy baguette, a loaded wrap, or one of their savoury muffins, expect generous fillings of sausage, egg, bacon and more. It’s brunch with a bang, and Malta’s loving it.

The buzz across social media has been loud and clear, with glowing reviews popping up from Facebook to Instagram praising the quality, taste, and value.

Of course, SFC’s breakfast may be new, but their signature chicken remains the real star. Whether you’re biting into their golden chicken pieces, sinking your teeth into a juicy burger, or fighting over the last of the super nuggets, SFC delivers on its promise: Bite. Crunch. Repeat. It’s a recipe for satisfaction that’s kept customers coming back time and again, with that distinctive Southern-style coating that’s crispy, seasoned, and seriously addictive.

And the momentum isn’t slowing down.

Southern Fried Chicken is teasing even more exciting new menu items landing just in time for Summer 2025, expanding their range while staying true to their roots. Plus, with two new locations in the works, the chain will grow to nine outlets by early 2026.

Meanwhile, late-night foodies are in for a treat. All SFC restaurants now stay open until 1am, with Qawra and Gozo pushing it till 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. It’s no wonder SFC recently bagged the Bolt Food “Midnight Munchies” Award, cementing its status as one of Malta’s top late-night eateries.

From 10am ciabattas to 2am cravings, Southern Fried Chicken is serving Malta with flavour, energy, and big summer plans.

Current locations: Zabbar, Birkirkara, Qormi, Mosta, Qawra, Luqa, and Mgarr Gozo.
