Annie Mac announces her last radio show on 30 July 2021

Legendary Irish DJ and broadcaster Annie Mac has released an official statement saying that she will be performing her last radio showon BBC Radio 1 on 30th July 2021. Annie is particularly known for her contribution to dance music and up-and-coming artists as well as the AMP Lost & Found Festival which takes place annually in Malta, also being named Festival Ambassador of Malta in 2018. In her most recent post, she stated that she is leaving to spend time with her children who are both in school.
It’s time to tell you, my listeners, that after 17 years, my last show on BBC Radio 1 will take place on 30 July 2021….

She also said she likes the idea of leaving the party with a huge smile on her face, ‘when [she’s] still having the most fun’ she can. She did however state that she will return to radio broadcasting when the time is right. The radio icon thanked all the fans who tuned into her show and the management at BBC Radio 1 who supported her all the way throughout her journey.
