Footage shows moment 2015 plane crash slices car in half

Footage shows moment 2015 plane crash slices car in half

TransAsia Airways Flight 235 was en route from Songshan Airport in Taiwan to Kinmen Airport in China when the tragedy took place on February 4th, 2015.

Just minutes into the flight, one of the plane’s turboprop engines failed, but instead of following the normal procedure of shutting down the malfunctioning engine and returning to the airport, a mistake was made by the pilots.

Due to miscommunication between the captain and co-pilot, the second engine was shut down, causing the plane to plummet towards the Keelung River.

The last words from their pilots heard by the passengers were: “Mayday, mayday, engine flameout.”

During the descent, the plane passed over a bridge and cut a taxi cab in half with its wing. Surprisingly, the two passengers in the cab survived with only minor injuries.

Unfortunately, the same couldn’t be said for those onboard Flight 235. Moments after the close call with the taxi, the plane crashed upside down in the river, resulting in 43 fatalities. Only 15 passengers survived.

All of the flight crew and one of the two flight attendants perished in the crash. The Taipei Fire Department and volunteer workers arrived on the scene within minutes, but it took another half hour for rescue boats to reach the survivors inside the plane.

Once the survivors were rescued, divers were sent to retrieve the dead, most of whom were seated at the front of the plane. A couple on the flight may have only narrowly escaped the crash due to a last-minute change of plans.

They had moved from the left side of the plane to the right before take off after hearing a strange noise coming from the wing. This proved to be fortunate as it was on the left side that an opening was created upon landing in the water, allowing the couple to escape before the plane filled with water.

The crash of Flight 235 ultimately led to the downfall of TransAsia Airways as it was the second major incident the airline faced in seven months. The airline ceased operations and closed indefinitely by the end of 2015.

The collection features two re-fillable lipsticks that come in tubes shaped like penises and are inspired by the “post-Italian Renaissance male form”. Cardinal, a red shade, comes in a metallic chrome-plated packaging while Vanity, a balm, is in a sleek gunmetal container. The lipstick cases weigh nearly 10 ounces each and retail for $95.

According to Ffrench, her brand is all about elevating the artistry in the products and she always pursues originality and risk-taking with an authentic approach to beauty and image-making. She has a history of bringing NSFW visuals to the makeup scene, as demonstrated by her previous “Industrial” collection that featured BDSM-inspired mascara and serums.

For the “Lips” collection, Malaysian photographer Zhong Lin shot a sensual campaign featuring close-ups of the products, starring models Ajok Deng and Kairi Tokoro.

The collection will be available for purchase online at Isamaya.com, with more colours to come in the following months. However, user discretion is advised as the general American population may be quick to side-eye the product if seen being used in public.

Bernice Cassar having knife held against throat was deemed a medium risk report

Bernice Cassar having knife held against throat was deemed a medium risk report
Feb 7 2023 Share

Bernice Cassar’s domestic violence report, which alleged that her husband Roderick had held a knife to her throat, was deemed by social workers as being of ‘medium risk.’

The assessment, which was reportedly conducted by social workers, resulted in a medium risk score of 11. When pressed on this matter, police constable Melvyn Galdes said that social workers had spoken to both Bernice and Roderick before making their assessment.

When asked why police had not arrested Cassar to instead opt to charge him through court summons, Galdes said he could not reply as that was a decision made by his superior.

The detail emerged from court testimony on Monday as the compilation of evidence against Roderick continues. The accused is currently pleading not guilty to killing his wife Bernice Cassar, who wound up killed a few months after filing the report.

Should Roderick be found guilty, he faces a stricter-than-usual sentence due to the case being tried as a murder with femicidal intent, making it the first one in local history after the concept was introduced into the law last year following the murder of Paulina Dembska.

It was reported earlier during the sitting by an eyewitness that Roderick dragged Bernice out of her car like a rag doll and proceeded to beat and kill her.

It had been revealed that the final report by Cassar came just one day before she was killed.
