As the tourism sector continues to bounce back after a 2-year blow due to the pandemic, national airline Air Malta is now leasing an extra plane and crew to meet increased travel demands this summer.
Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo took to Facebook to share this news in addition to the fact that the airline carried almost 270,000 passengers over a period of two months.
The airline’s chief commercial officer Roy Kinnear highlighted that the extra aircraft will aid Air Malta in facilitating the increased demand on travel including flights to Madrid, Prague, Lyon as well as charter flights to Warsaw.
Such high demand is expected to continue increasing during the summer months, with occupancy levels and seat load reaching record levels.
