Billie Eilish makes acting debut as new horror TV show trailer drops
Mar 17 2023 Share

After reaching global superstardom, Billie Eilish seems to have started completing side quests, making her acting debut on brand new thriller show ‘Swarm’.

The Swarm trailer shows Eilish delivering a dark, chilling performance alongside co-stars Dominique Fishback and Rickey Thomson, with Chloe Bailey, Damson Idris, Nirine S. Brown and Paris Jackson.

As soon as the trailer dropped, fans of the 21-year-old chart-topper set Twitter ablaze with tweets hyping up her appearance. Notably, one user suggested that Eilish may be on her way to be the youngest person to ever receive an EGOT: the acronym for Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.

Swarm, which is co-created by Janine Nabers and multi-faceted Donald Glover, tells the story of a young woman who is obsessed with a non-existent popstar, with a fanbase known as the swarm.

The project will air on Prime Video and if the creators’ past accomplishments are anything to go by, we are in for a treat.

A post shared by Malta Daily (@maltadaily.mt)

The IĠM expressed its solidarity with ONE TV journalists and camerapersons who were the subjects of such behaviour, with the institute highlighting how any form of abuse at journalists is unacceptable, urging the police to investigate the matter.

Notably, the IĠM stated the unfortunate state of the country’s attitude towards journalists as it continues its downward trend as authorities and politicians continue to denigrate the sector with comments targeting journalists.

“The institute once again calls on the authorities to acknowledge the role of the media, its vital importance for a healthy democracy and take action to ensure safety of journalists at all times,” a post read.

This comes after masses congregated to Valletta on Thursday evening to protest opposite parliament in light of the recent Steward Health Care Malta revelation.

On Thursday, the Nationalist Party shared a snap of the crowds opposite Parliament, with the caption stating “Currently gathered in front of Parliament, because you deserve better. No to fraud, theft and bribery.”
