TAG SOMEONE YOU SUSPECT COULD BE MALTA’S SPIDER-MAN.

Who would be Malta’s very own Peter Parker?

We are now forced to ponder the question after local creator malta.ai re-imagined the Marvel swinging superhero making his way around the cities of the Mediterranean island.

The young superhero, a favourite amongst both comic book lovers and those less attuned to the geekier world, could be seen in various localities and iconic spots of Malta.

Just picture it: you’re walking through the streets of Valletta and Spider-man just zooms over your head as he makes his way to fight crime.

And as per our introductory question, Spider-man is a young teenager in disguise, so he’d have to come from one of Malta’s various secondary or post-secondary schools.

Photos have recently surfaced online of a shop’s front in St Julian’s Ballet Square donning Da Michele’s branding, garnering immediate attention by media and food lovers whose taste buds know exactly what’s in store.

And now, posting to social media, Da Michele Malta revealed that their next opening of L’Antica Pizzeria is truly coming to the Maltese islands.

Founded in 1870, L’ Antica Pizzeria Da Michele is one of the oldest and best pizzerias in Naples and attracts droves of customers, some of them very familiar faces, to dine in their establishments.

Michele Condurro, mastered the family art of pizza making, which he acquired from the legendary Torre Annunziata masters who were professionals in the preparation and kneading of pizza dough, as well as the cooking of pizza.

It eventually became known as ‘the sacred temple of pizza’ by food specialists and journalists from all over the world, and it is now bringing its delicacies to the Mediterranean island.

Have you ever tried L’ Antica Pizzeria Da Michele?

Italy could get a 19-year-old influencer as queen

Italy could get a 19-year-old influencer as queen

An Italian prince, Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy, is set to renounce his claim to Italy’s throne and pass it to his 19-year-old influencer daughter, Vittoria.

Italy does not have its own royal family, after it abolished the monarchy in a referendum in 1946. However, the House of Savoy, which was the birth family of Italy’s kings, still hopes this could change.

Teenage model Vittoria boasts around 82.5K followers on Instagram, and is currently studying political science and art history at the University of London.

She is also known for her model work, posing for the avant-garde clothing company GEN FREY last year and appearing on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine.

It is reported that if Vittoria ascends the throne, she would be in charge of the family’s ‘charities’, which spent more than $1 million on projects last year.

Prince Emanuele wanted to make the move to show that the family was open and progressive – and possibly save face after his grandfather supported the Mussolini regime.

He thinks that his daughter could do a better job in the role and bring modern ideas to it. His move to hand over the throne to his daughter breaks the Salic Law of Succession.

Banners to decriminalise abortion on Parliament barriers

Voice For Choice pro-choice activists stuck banners urging for the decriminalisation of abortion after a court case saw a woman charged for carrying out an abortion at home and after Prime Minister Robert Abela expressed his ‘discomfort’ at the case.

‘In comments at the State of The Nation conference this week, Prime Minister Robert Abela said he was not comfortable with the court’s conviction of a woman charged with abortion’, wrote the group in a statement.

The group said that they do not want to hear about the discomfort and are done listening to ‘empty calls for debates and exchanges’.

‘Don’t tell us to talk about it more, when we are talking about it – we are shouting loud – at doors that are sealed shut with you behind them holding the pen.’

‘The mother of a very young child – entirely dependent on her in a violent home – made a decision to take control over her own body. Reported by the partner that abused her for making what in most countries in the world is considered a completely private decision. Berated by the court for not seeking alternative options; options that are not accessible, found only behind more doors that are closed.’

The group said that the state has ‘failed yet again’ to protect another woman and ‘betrayed her instead.’

‘Tell us about how this nightmare ends. Tell us about strategies that support us. Tell us about how basic healthcare will finally be provided. Tell us what you’re going to do about it.’

What do you make of this?
