Apr 14 2023 Share

Ever wondered what an environmentally-friendly train system would actually look like in Malta? Well now, thanks to local artificial intelligence creator ‘Malta & AI’, you can actually picture it.

Following his interesting AI generation of what Malta’s take on New York City’s Central Park would look like, the AI creator gave a little bit of insight as to how a cross-country train system could operate in Malta.

The sleek, modern train system is pictured traversing through the streets of Malta, with the island’s iconic churches, fortifications and structures serving as a backdrop.

The concept of a Maltese metro system has been an object of public debate for decades, with the government previously launching long-term plans for a metro back in 2021.

Gozitans can now benefit from the use of 56 brand new e-bikes, purchased by the The Local Enforcement System Agency (LESA) and The Gozo Regional Council.

The e-bikes were supplied through an investment of €82,000, of which €65,000 were paid by LESA.

In a recent post, Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri reported that the bikes will be distributed amongst Gozo’s various localities and will offer an alternative, zero-emission means of transport to Gozitans which is ideal for short distances on the island.

The Ministry for Home Affairs, Security, Reforms and Equality, lead by minister Byron Camilleri, revealed that LESA’s investment comes from funds collected from and penalties issued by the agency.

Researchers have created a predictive model exhibiting what hardcore gamers could look like in 20 years’ time and the results will shock you.

The ‘Future Gamer’ model, named ‘Michael’, was created by gambling platform OnlineCasino.ca as part of an in-depth study which sheds light on how gamers’ bodies could look like if they do not practice positive lifestyle habits.

Sleep deprivation, dehydration, lack of vitamin D and digital eye strain could lead to the physical issues portrayed in the study, some of which include an indented skull, bald patches, obesity, pale skin, finger blisters, swollen ankles, rounded shoulders and more.

The aforementioned issues may be caused by a number of gaming-related issues such as lack of vitamin D, air circulation and movement as well as stress, increased food intake and poor posture, amongst others.

The study highlighted how, according to Limelight “according to Limelight, the average gamer spends 6 hours each week playing online video games which is an increase of 19.3% in the last year.”

The World Health Organization distinguishes ‘gaming disorder’ with “impaired control over gaming, increasing priority given to gaming over other activities to the extent that gaming takes precedence over other interests and daily activities, and continuation or escalation of gaming despite the occurrence of negative consequences”.
