AI Artist Envisions Bridge Between Tigne & Valletta

AI ARTIST ENVISIONS BRIDGE BETWEEN TIGNE AND VALLETTA
Nov 6 2024 Share

Taking to social media, AI Malta Vision showed what a bridge built between Tigne, Sliema to Valletta would look like.

The bridge, in this creation, utilises electric cabins to transport people back and forth.

‘Considering the areas of Sliema and Gżira are heavily populated with tourists and the new Manoel Island Project presumably kicking off in few months time, one must think of better connections to arrive from point A to B in order to avoid more chaos on our roads.’

What do you think?

Government Announces Tax Relief on Sanitary Products in 2025 Budget

Government Announces Tax Relief on Sanitary Products in 2025 Budget
Nov 6 2024 Share

The 2025 Budget, described by Parliamentary Secretary for Equality and Reforms Rebecca Buttigieg as one of the most progressive for equality, includes significant measures to support women’s health. One of the key announcements was the full removal of VAT on sanitary products and special clothing for women who have undergone breast cancer treatment.

She also explained that the removal of VAT is a move towards fairness, as these items are crucial for women’s health and hygiene. The measure goes beyond the electoral promise to reduce VAT, with the new policy setting it to 0%.

Women will benefit financially, saving thousands of euros over their lifetime, as it is estimated that they will use over 20,000 sanitary products over the course of 40 years. This initiative complements another government project already in motion this year, providing free menstrual products to female students in schools.

Rebecca Buttigieg also highlighted that the Budget allocates funds to support national strategies on equality, combatting domestic violence, and preventing human trafficking.
