Jun 23 2025 Share

A helicopter flight crew from the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) Air Wing recently took part in a crew exchange with the Italian Air Force’s 15th Wing, based at Decimomannu in Sardegna, Italy.

This collaborative activity forms part of the Italo-Maltese Bilateral Cooperation Plan, an ongoing initiative aimed at enhancing defence ties and operational interoperability between the two nations. The exchange involved joint training sessions focused on aviation operations, coordination procedures, and aircrew familiarisation.

Such engagements not only provide valuable training opportunities but also serve to strengthen the longstanding relationship between the AFM and the Italian Air Force.

First Holy Communion Ceremony At Mdina Parish Church

Archbishop Charles Scicluna led the celebration for Corpus Christi, a feast where Catholics remember the Body and Blood of Jesus in Holy Communion.

The Mass was held at St Paul’s Cathedral in Mdina.

During the Mass, the Archbishop spoke about how Jesus gives us peace and joy through Holy Communion. He said that the Eucharist helps fill our hearts with love and gives us strength when we are feeling lost or sad.

After the Mass, there was a Eucharistic procession. This is when people walk together through the streets while praying.

Fourteen children who had just made their First Holy Communion the day before also joined the walk. They were dressed in white and looked very happy to be part of the celebration.

The Archbishop also prayed for peace around the world and asked God to bless Malta with more children. He thanked all the parents who help their children grow in faith and everyone who took part in the Mass.
