Adrian Delia and Alex Borg met recently to discuss their common goals for the Nationalist Party (PN). Delia confirmed that they also met with PN committees from Birgu, Ħamrun, Ħal Kirkop and Żurrieq.
Speaking about the meeting, Adrian Delia said: “Together with the PN committees from Birgu, Ħamrun, Ħal Kirkop and Żurrieq, we met and discussed because we all have one goal to renew, strengthen and win for our party.”
Delia’s message highlighted the party’s focus on unity and growth as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.
The deadline for nominations for the PN leadership officially closed last Sunday, confirming a two-candidate race between former party leader Adrian Delia and rising Gozitan MP Alex Borg.
Despite earlier reports suggesting a mutual agreement for only one candidate to stand, Borg surprised many by submitting his nomination after Delia had already declared his intention to run. This led to speculation about a possible rift between the former allies.
However, those rumours appeared to be put to rest when the two met on Friday during campaign visits in the Żurrieq area. Delia emphasised unity, stating that the PN only has one opponent the Labour Government. He also noted that political challenges come not only from within Malta but also from international issues, including threats with nuclear implications, which the country is not immune to.
Delia’s meetings with PN committees from Birgu, Ħamrun, Ħal Kirkop and Żurrieq underline the shared commitment to renewing and strengthening the party ahead of the election.
