The Freedom Flotilla arrived at the Port of Valletta in Malta yesterday, marking the final leg of its journey en route to Gaza.
This international flotilla, which began its voyage on May 1 in Oslo, aims to challenge the ongoing blockade of Gaza by Israel and to raise awareness about the injustice and oppression faced by the Palestinian people.
Today, August 14, a press conference will be held next to the vessel ‘Handala’ in Valletta, featuring members of the international Steering Committee, representatives from the various campaigns that comprise the coalition, and crew members. Local organisations, including Graffitti Moviment, will also participate, showcasing the broad support for this cause.

The Freedom Flotilla’s mission has been supported by local groups at every port along its route, underscoring the global solidarity against the inhumane blockade of Gaza.
The Flotilla’s efforts are part of a larger movement of activists who, for the past 14 years, have been sailing to protest Israel’s blockade. This movement gained international attention in 2010, when the Israeli army attacked a flotilla vessel in international waters, resulting in the deaths of 10 activists.
The arrival of the Flotilla in Malta symbolises ongoing international solidarity with the Palestinian people amidst the current crisis in Gaza.
