Malta remains hopeful in its battle against the COVID-19 pandemic as Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Chris Fearne took to Facebook to share some encouraging news.

Fearne stated that amount of active cases will drop to 270 today, which will be the lowest active case number since early August last year.

The Health Minister went on to highlight the importance of high vaccination rates and called upon the public to take the jab when possible.

In a recent interview with FightHype.com, UFC Boss Dana White stated that while he “doesn’t hate the kid”, believes that Jake Paul will get knocked out in the near future.

White stated that Paul’s 15 minutes of fame will soon be over but commends the YouTuber for the immense cash flow he has been raking in with all the recent headline-making escapades.

Paul was recently seen butting heads with former double champion Daniel Cormier in a fight appearance, going on to challenge the fighter after taking a jab at his weight.

35-year-old man from Marsa arrested on drug trafficking charges

The Drug Squad within the Malta Police Force has arrested a 35-year-old man from Marsa related to drug trafficking charges.

On Thursday evening, the Police raided It-Telgħa ta’ Spencer in Marsa and arrested the 35-year-old after discovering possession of drugs ready for trafficking, going on to find cocaine, heroine, cannabis and methadone amongst other objects in a search of his residence.

Another 21-year-old Kalkara resident was also arrested for breaching a number of conditions imposed on him by the Court of Malta.

In exclusive footage sent to Malta Daily, a number of individuals were seen breaching Malta’s COVID-19 regulations as sizeable groups gathered for a bonfire party in Mistra.

Reports of loud music and revelling were made as footage shows a group of more than 4 people, as specified by the Health Authorities in the past days.

As Malta continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic, it is of utmost importance that the public adheres to the regulations and measures stipulated by the Health Authorities.
