A record 3,285 swab tests were administered

A record number of 3,285 swab tests were administered in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of swab tests administered in Malta from the beginning of the pandemic to 317,904.


This comes after earlier this week it was announced that Malta’s COVID-19 testing rate is the second highest in Europe.

125 new cases of COVID-19 & 89 recoveries in the past 24 hours

Malta has registered 125 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 3,285 swab tests, while 89 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.


Today’s cases are still being investigated. From yesterday’s cases; 46 were family members of previously known cases, 6 cases were contact of positive work colleagues, 2 cases were direct contacts with other positive cases, 1 case was from Paceville and 1 case was imported.


To date, Malta has registered 5,498 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 3,567 have recovered, 51 died and 1,880 are still active.

Infrastructure Minister Ian Borg has inaugurated a new lighting system on the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mount Carmel dome in Valletta.


The Valletta skyline was already one of the most impressive skyline’s in the world and this just got it up toanother level.
