You Can Now Spend The Night At Shrek’s House On AirBnB

You Can Now Spend The Night At Shrek's House On AirBnB
Sep 27 2023 Share

First we got Barbie’s Malibu Dreamhouse, but now Airbnb is offering a long weekend stay at none other than Shrek’s swamp house.

‘With Donkey in charge, guests will have the chance to live their own versions of the layered ogre life for two special, starry nights (minus the torches, pitchforks, and intrusive Duloc Knights)’, Airbnb explains.

During the stay, guests can ‘relax in the ambiance of earwax candlelight’, ‘kick their feet up with a parfait’, ‘swap stories around the fire until late in the night’, and much more.

The property is located in the Scottish Highlands, and seems to be a very accurate and film-faithful recreation of the swamp abode.

The listing is offering a two-night stay from Oct. 27 to Oct. 29 for up to three guests. The Airbnb will available for bookings on Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. BST.

After the massive craze behind the Sidemen’s brief time in Malta for a suspected wedding, the groom, Vikram, posted a set of photos of him and his now wife Ellie Harlow, posing around the Malta on their big day.

The couple were in fact on the island to get married, accompanied by the rest of the popular YouTube group Sidemen.

The group attracted the attention of many local fans, who flocked to meet the celebrities as they roamed the island.

Vikram’s now wife Ellie Harlow stays relatively away from the spotlight, with the pair starting their dating in 2019. She first appeared on the YouTuber’s Instagram in April 2020 and the proposal came just a year later in 2021.

Post Causes Stir After Suggesting Tattoo-Mental Illness Link

Post Causes Stir After Suggesting Tattoo-Mental Illness Link
Sep 27 2023 Share

A post uploaded to Facebook caused quite the stir on local social media, after a user suggested that people who get tattoos suffer some form of lack of self-esteem or mental illness.

The user was prompted by a discussion on local show F-Living, which discussed how the person with the record for the most tattoos ended up committing suicide.

One of the three persons on the panel suggested, according to the user, that this was done due to the stigma the tattooed person may have suffered.

‘Personally, I believe that to be willing to get the smallest of tattoos in the first place, you have to already be suffering from some form of lack of self esteem/depression or mental illness.’

‘We are hearing a lot about mental health and the importance of looking out for the slightest hint of depression and suicidal tendencies. But no one is willing to outright say that persons who are willing to get tattoos on their body need a serious professional to discover why the person in question is willing to carry on with this unnecessary intervention on completely healthy skin.’

‘Whether Rick Genest (the tattooed record holder in question) died of an incident or suicide’, wrote the user, ‘is debatable. But according to the autopsy it was shown that traces of cannabis and high levels of alcohol were found. And persons who use problematic drugs and/or too much alcohol already show symptoms of mental illness.’

The post was met with a lot of criticism, with many urging the user to back up her claims which pander to antiquated mentalities.

What do you make of this situation?
