A Brief Rundown Of What Went Down Yesterday In Court

Here’s a brief rundown of the main points from yesterday’s historic court case.

14 persons & 14 companies were arraigned in court. Among them former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, Former Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi and former chief of staff Keith Schembri.

Joseph Muscat plead ‘absolutely not guilty’ to the charges. Mizzi and Schembri also plead not guilty.

The court prohibited the parties and their lawyer from handing any parts of the records to third parties, banning any public comments about any testimonies or evidence in the proceedings.

The court did not prohibit the accused from travelling abroad but they must make sure to appear for every sitting.

A €25,000 personal guarantee on each of the accused was imposed to ensure they abide by obligation.
