Young champion Kruiven Farrugia found a way to help local ALS activist Bjorn Formosa by running a 5k marathon to raise funds for the homes Formosa runs to help those in need.
At just 8-years-old, Kruiven set a massive example of charity and kindness as he set off from Imdina to San Anton Palace, raising €1 for every metre he ran.
He went on to run the race alongside his mother Charmaine and Bjorn’s wife Maria, completing the run in a total of 22 minutes. His efforts were immensely praised by Bjorn, as the young boy has managed to raise €3,863 out of his €5,000 target.
Farrugia is running to raise funds for Dar Bjorn Respite, which is a planned extension of Dar Bjorn, a community home for patients with ALS, MS and other neurological conditions. These are all run by Formosa’s foundation ALS Malta+.
On the day of the run, Bjorn wrote: Today I woke up with immense joy! The day has arrived for Kruiven!’ He went on to explain how he raised 40% of his goal and people can donate to help him achieve even more. Well done lad!
