8 things that made people happier in 2021 | by Ed's Common Sense

Like every other year, 2021 brought with it the highs and lows of everyday life and then some, but if the past year has given us anything, it’s that it taught us a few lessons along the way. From taking in every moment with all of its goods and bads to appreciating the little things in every situation, clinical psychologist and psychotherapist Dr. Edward Curmi brings us 8 things that made us happier in 2021.

Dr. Edward Curmi is also the author of 2 self-help books titled Ed’s Common Sense.

People learnt that what doesn’t kill them makes them stronger. Resilience is a super booster to enhance happiness.

People came to terms that happiness does not stem from material things. Actually meaningful relationships make us happier.

People had to accept quickly that suffering is part of their every day life and the quicker one accepts it, the more one can learn to live with it.

People realised more that happiness stems from being helpful and kinder with one another.

People felt safer knowing that they live around courageous front-liners and a robust health system.

People figured out that little things like baking bread can go a long way to help us feel more accomplished and happier.

People appreciate more than ever the importance of a warm hug or physical contact with their loved ones.

People started investing more in their mental wellbeing especially through sports and outdoor activity.

Do you agree with these? Let us know!

Gucci & Billie Eilish just released limited edition vinyl for ‘Happier Than Ever’ & it looks amazing
Dec 5 2021 Share

It’s not every day that artists get to collaborate with Gucci but when they do, you better believe that it’s going to be amazing.

More so when the artist in question is Billie Eilish, with the young artist releasing a limited-edition vinyl set for her most recent album ‘Happier Than Ever.’ In their efforts to embrace the world of music and self-expression, Alessandro Michele’s Gucci Brand sought to create an exclusive box set for Eilish’s album, inspired by the artist’s embrace on authenticity.

The vinyl is obviously Gucci designed and made to be a collector’s item, dancing on the fine line between Gucci’s design and Eilish’s artistry and to top it all off, it is made from recycled vinyl scraps from the colours of the first pressing of the record.

The set also includes luxury Nail Stickers with the brand’s iconic GG emblazoned on them and the set will be officially available in selected Gucci stores as from December 2.

Year-high support for Labour Party as trust gap widens between leaders

Year-high support for Labour Party as trust gap widens between leaders
Dec 5 2021 Share

A MaltaToday survey has revealed that support for the Labour Party has reached a record-high for 2021, growing to 45.9%.

The Nationalist Party clocked in a 31.9% while the ADPD scored 0.1%; the amount of people who choose not to vote remained consistent at 11.3% while uncertainty has dropped to 10.3% from last month’s 13.5%. Labour leader and Prime Minister Robert Abela has seen a rise in his trust rating at 51.1% while Bernard Grech has experienced a drop to 26.5%.

The trust gap is the widest it has been since Grech first occupied the role of PN leader. Abela seems to have an upper hand with the young voters, who still shift partially towards the PN albeit being the bracket with the most uncertain voters or people who choose not to vote.
