77 year old woman marries herself in wedding of her dreams

77-year-old Ohio woman Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Fideli, has finally had the wedding of her life marrying the person that matters the most – herself.

Celebrating the love she has for herself at her retirement community in O’Bannon Terrace in Goshen, Dottie revealed that she was once married in a quick courthouse ceremony back in 1965.

Unfortunately, her marriage fell apart nine years later, saying that it was doomed from the start. She told international outlet Today that she had worn a black dress on the day – an omen she took as a symbol for her failed marriage.

Staying single for around 40 years, she felt like she had to do something for herself when at church and discovered she could marry herself after she saw a woman do something similar on a talk show.

The mother of three decided that, after having went through everything, it was time to do what she felt like doing. Helped by her kids to find a dress and other essential wedding requirements, she accomplished her mission and sealed the deal with herself.

What went down at during yesterday’s Love Island episode

What went down at during yesterday's Love Island episode
May 18 2023 Share

With all of its highlights, we’re still working out whether yesterday’s Love Island Malta episode was a good one or not. In between a few moments between potential new couples and trouble in paradise for others, here’s are some of yesterday’s best moments.

Marie Christine grilled the boys

Albeit timid, Marie’s quest for love continued yesterday and she didn’t hold back. A particularly notable moment was when she asked islander Kyle what he thinks of her ahead of the anticipated re-coupling.

3/5 couples stay together

Yesterday’s re-coupling wasn’t a total shake-up, with three of the five couples sticking together post-bombshell. Sven & Gabrielle, Dale & Nicola and Sabrina & Kyle stayed together whilst Marie coupled with bombshell Andriy and Chelsea got together with Allen.

Malta felt for Sven

Despite the seemingly-kiesaħ, bad boy persona Sven entered with, we can all agree that we felt for Sven in moments before Gabrielle said his name during the re-coupling. Maybe we are #TeamSven after all.

Nate left alone

The source of a LOT of iconic Love Island Malta moments so far, Nate didn’t seem to mesh with Chelsea in the first few days and ended up being left alone.

“Ħa naħdem u ħa naħli”

In the final moments of Wednesday’s episode, Nate was left alone but he did close the show with an iconic late… “Ħa naħdem u ħa naħli.”

Both singers are, by themselves, known for their careers in the local industry by the Maltese public – but many were surprised to discover that they were related!

Amber Bondin is known for representing Malta in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest with her song Warrior. She also had the opportunity to perform in front of the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles in the CHOGM 2015 opening ceremony and recently formed part of the duet for the  Games of the Smalls States of Europe official anthem alongside Aidan.

As for Megan, she rose to prominence during the second season of X Factor Malta when she joined the girl group FAITH. Following the group’s dismantling, Megan continued to produce and perform her own material, whilst also performing in local theatrical and televised productions.

And now that they came together, they gave us the collaboration that we didn’t know we needed! Could we see a future professional collaboration between them?
