First up are images of the largest planet in our solar system: Jupiter. The images show Jupiter in enhance colour, with the Great Red Spot appearing white.

The second image of Jupiter is a wide field view which also shows electric blue auroras glowing above the north and south poles. At the far left edge of the faint rings appears a moon as tiny as a white dot.

Earlier in August we also got images of the Cartwheel Galaxy, made up of 2 rings as both expand outwards. More stunning images of objects in space are set to be released as the telescope continues to snap more images for us to drop our jaws at.

Marsaxlokk community assemble canvas in support of Fr. Luke Seguna

Marsaxlokk community assemble canvas in support of Fr. Luke Seguna
Aug 23 2022 Share

A canvas has been erected in Marsaxlokk, aiming to show the communal support to parish priest Luke Seguna.

Seguna is currently undergoing trial in court for allegedly misappropriating around €500,000 by 150 parishioners over a decade. €148,000 of the funds were reportedly spent on pornographic websites.

However, as many still await further court sittings, many from the Marsaxlokk community hung a banner at around a visible dock area saying: ‘All of Marsaxlokk is behind you. Courage Fr. Luke.’

The 39-year-old priest is currently at the fore of a controversial court case as various people take a multitude of opinions on the issue. Many have, possibly prematurely, condemned the priest for his actions whilst others seek to highlight the good he has done.
