66 Year Old Motorcyclist left in Critical Condition After Accident

Yesterday evening, at approximately 7:15 PM, police were alerted to a traffic accident on the St. Paul’s Bay bypass. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the incident involved a motorcycle and two cars. The cars were driven by a 25-year-old and a 52-year-old, both residents of St. Paul’s Bay.

 

The motorcyclist, a 66-year-old woman from San Gwann, had collided not only with the vehicles but also with the road barriers. Emergency medical teams promptly attended to her and transported her to Mater Dei Hospital via ambulance for further medical treatment. She has been certified to have sustained serious injuries and is currently in critical condition.

Magistrate Dr. Antoinette Agius Bonnici LL.D was notified and has appointed an inquiry into the accident. Meanwhile, police investigations are ongoing to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.

Ghaxaq Music Festival Celebrates 25 Years with a Spectacular 5-Day Lineup

The Ghaxaq Music Festival marks its 25th anniversary with an extraordinary five-day celebration, showcasing a stellar lineup of international and local talent. This year’s event promises to be the most memorable yet, featuring performances across multiple genres and venues.

Day 1: Reggae Extravaganza

Kicking off on July 24th at the Ghaxaq Grounds, Grammy Award winner Julian Marley & The Uprising headline with their ‘Colours of Royal’ Tour. The son of reggae legend Bob Marley, Julian will perform tracks from his latest award-winning album, as well as timeless classics like “One Love” and “Redemption Song.” Supporting acts include Maltese band Fakawi and DJ Mykill, with JJOY hosting a vibrant closing party.

Day 2: Pop Icon Ronan Keating

On July 27th, the festival features Ronan Keating, known for hits like “Life Is a Rollercoaster” and “When You Say Nothing at All.” Keating’s dynamic performance will be supported by Maltese artist Shaun Farrugia, who has collaborated with Martin Garrix and other notable artists. The night will begin with a warmup set by Pierre Cordina and conclude with a closing party by DJ Sue.

Day 3: Brit Floyd’s Tribute to Pink Floyd

July 31st at Ghaxaq Grounds will be unforgettable as Brit Floyd, the world’s premier Pink Floyd tribute band, performs. Celebrating 30 years of P·U·L·S·E, the show features a spectacular laser and light display, iconic visuals, and a guest appearance by Harry Waters, son of Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters. The performance includes classics from Pink Floyd’s legendary albums, creating a fully immersive experience.

Grand Finale at Ghaxaq Square

The festival’s grand finale on August 7th and 8th at Ghaxaq Square will feature the renowned Bootleg Beatles and Malta’s beloved Tribali. The Bootleg Beatles will transport audiences back to the ’60s with authentic renditions of Beatles classics, while Tribali will debut their fifth album “Anka” and revisit fan favorites from previous albums.

Both events at Ghaxaq Square are free, featuring local crafts, foods, and cultural delights. The festival supports the Embrace Diversity Organization, continuing its tradition of charitable contributions.

Italian professional footballer Stephan El Shaarawy has been spotted in Malta for the Isle of MTV Malta festival yesterday.

Stephan El Shaarawy began his career at Genoa, and was signed by Milan in 2011. He has been previously regarded as one of the most promising youngsters of his generation, El Shaarawy had his break through in the first half of the 2012-2013 season. In 2019, he  transferred to the Chinese club Shanghai Greenland Shenhua, before making a return to Roma eighteen months later.

A fan spotted the footballer as he was in Malta accompanying his girlfriend, Ludovica Pagani, who is an Italian celebrity DJ, who was playing at the Isle of MTV sold out official after party.

Renowned English actor Jonathan Bailey was recently spotted at the Isle of MTV festival in Malta, as seen on Nathan Henry’s Instagram story. Bailey, best known for his portrayal of Anthony Bridgerton in Netflix’s acclaimed series “Bridgerton”.

Jonathan Bailey, born on April 25, 1988, in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, has had a passion for acting since a young age. His interest was sparked by a performance of “Oliver!” he attended when he was just five years old. Bailey’s professional acting career began at the age of seven with the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of “A Christmas Carol,” marking the start of his journey in the performing arts.

Bailey has built a diverse and successful career across theater, television, and film. His early work includes notable roles in series such as “Broadchurch” and “Doctor Who.” However, it is his role as Anthony Bridgerton that has catapulted him to international fame, earning him widespread recognition and acclaim.

In addition to his on-screen achievements, Bailey is also celebrated for his stage performances. He won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical for his role in the 2018 revival of Stephen Sondheim’s “Company.” His dynamic presence and versatility have made him a prominent figure in both the West End and on screen.
